Pacific Crest/Sunriver Weekend Saturday

Saturday was another fun day out at Sunriver on the Pacific Coast weekend.  I signed up to do a half marathon which was that morning.  It was a cold, clear morning.  It was only about 45 degrees at the start of the race.  But it was a bright sunny morning.  I was a little nervous about how I would do because Sunriver is at a higher elevation.  But I did well, considering and finished under 2 hours which was my goal.  I think my time was 1:54.  So I felt good about that.

Later that morning, the boys did a bike ride.  That afternoon we went to SHARC, which is a community water park and pool.  The kids also climbed a rock wall.  We had ice cream in the afternoon, and the kids had fun riding their bikes around.

Pacific Crest/Sunriver Weekend Friday

The last weekend in June, we drove to Sunriver and met up with two other families to participate in the Pacific Crest Weekend of outdoor events. We each picked our own event to do, and the first one was a Kid's Triathlon on Friday afternoon.  Daniel and Sam participated in this one along with their friends Hannah, Sequoiah and Ren.  It started with a "dash' through a bouncy obstacle course and running through a pool of water.  Then they got on their bikes and rode about a mile on the bike.  Then it finished with a about a 1/2 to 3/4 run.  It was cute, and they had fun.

Continued Basement Fix

After the flooding problem got fixed last winter, we then had to hire somebody to come in and put the basement back together.  We found a nice general contractor who was able to do that.  He had to reattach the 2 X 4's to the wall and fix the electrical.  He had to put the dry wall back up and spray the dry wall.  He had to paint both rooms.  Then we got new carpet.  This week he will put the baseboard back on.   It's nice to have the basement in working order again.

School Stuff

The last couple of weeks of school were fun and busy.  The boys and I had many things going on.  Daniel was involved in a play that his class performed for chapel.  We had a school picnic/field day with lots of fun activities.  And the entire school was involved with an Art Project that is going to be displayed throughout the year where each student and staff member poured paint over wooden boxes to show unity.  It turned out well.  Here's a look:
