Memorial Day Weekend at the Beach

Last month, for Memorial Day Weekend, we went to the Beach and stayed in Manzanita with Jeff's parents.  We left after school on Friday and got down there that evening.  The next day we got up and the boys went down and played on the beach a little.  Jeff and I did a nice long run on the beach.  After breakfast, we got ourselves ready and drove to Fort Stevens for a picnic lunch and bike ride.  We rode to Battery Russell and a few other historic spots.  But it started to rain, so we headed back.  On Sunday, it was sunny.  Jeff and I did another run.  The boys played on the beach most of the day.  There was a bit of a wine, so the boys were able to fly their kites.  We got up Monday morning and headed home.  It was a fun weekend!

Spring Music Concert

Last month, the boys were involved with their spring music concert at school.  Simon's class sang a couple of songs.  They were very cute.  Sam's class sang and played the hand bells.  They did a nice job.  And Daniel's class sang and played the ukulele.  They did a nice job too.  It was a very nice concert, and I was proud of all of them!

Sam's Birthday

I know this was last month, but I wanted to mention a little bit about Sam's birthday.  Last month, on May 12, he turned 8 years old.  His actual birthday was a school day, so he took donuts to school and shared them with his class and teachers.  That night we made his favorite dinner and had cake.

The Sunday after his birthday, we were going to go for a bike ride, but it ended up raining, so we went to OMSI instead.  The boys had fun playing and running around.  After OMSI, we met with Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Debbie and Uncle Todd and had dinner at McMennamins.
